How Life Coverage Works

Individual Term Life Insurance

• Coverage goes where you go. After six months of continuous coverage, if you leave California or discontinue your Blue Shield health coverage you can keep your life policy.
• You'll receive one combined bill for your health plan and life insurance.
• You only need to complete one application. When you apply for an individual and family plan, request life insurance by completing the life insurance section of the application.
• If your health plan application is approved, your life insurance coverage will take effect on the same day as your health coverage.
• If you are not satisfied you may return your policy within ten days (30 days if you are age 60 through 64) for a full refund.
